The Mind of a Serial Killer

About the Site

In December, 2010, Chelsea began work gathering information and watching films and interviews of serial killers for her psychology course. That same month, she commissioned Micah Cantrell to help her understand basic web design and create a site that would express Chelsea''s interest and Micah''s skill.

Micah explained that a web page is a file, HTML or Hyper Text Markup Language. Basically, web pages are assembled by HTML tags, written in brackets (< >) which are interpreted by a web browser, like Firefox. By using the text editor gEdit for GNOME, Micah wrote the structure of the document to Chelsea’s specifications and included some artistic ideas as well. By use of Gimp, Micah manipulated images previously found by Chelsea to create unique and appealing visuals (example: the blue brain on the home page). Chelsea continued watching and reading scary films, articles, and interviews, while Micah finished the basic structure of the site. In January, 2011, Micah entered the rest of the information into HTML and the site was complete.
