I will be updating this as I get back into all things web related after a long departure from web design.
I have collected together my most representative work in this portfolio. It displays a great knowledge of semantic XHTML/CSS, PHP/MySQL, and Javascript and the DOM. It also shows my ability to design web sites from inception to launch. You can see that I can design a wide variety of personalities and attitudes into a web site, depending on the need of the client and their clients.
I prefer to design using bold colors, but that is not always the right choice for some audiences. So, I included work that shows I can build a more professional persona.
For all of my examples I did the design and code. I selected colors and created logos and designed the layout and the document structure and organization.
I use many tools to achieve the final product of a web site. For coding I use gedit. I use The GIMP and Photoshop to create graphic elements. I develop on a Linux platform using Apache, MySQL, and PHP, but I can work in any environment that a client may have in place.

This is a small art studio that creates fine art in Indiana. They were in need of increasing their exposure to outside markets, so I was brought in to create a gallery for them that would display their work to a wider audience.
To achieve this goal, I first organized their art into a few categories and created seperate galleries for each group. I then used some of the artist sketches as the background to give the site some of the artists personality and tie the whole concept together.
The main technologies I used for this project were XHTML, CSS, and some JavaScript. I used the Lightbox framework for displaying the images of the studios art. Lightbox is really stable and easy to implement which makes it perfect for image galleries.
I did this site for a local company that works on damaged vehicle frames. They are the best around at what they do. If you need a frame fixed and everyone says it can't be done, come here.
The background image is a rig used in the business. They wanted to highlight this equipment because it is the backbone of their business. So I highlighted it in the manner they asked me to.
I used XHTML and CSS to build this site. No bells or whistles, nothing fancy.
This is a mortgage company in Bloomington, IN. I made this site in 2003. Using HTML 4.1. This was the last site I did with table based design.
This company has since been discontinued. I like the simplicity of the design, it feels very open and calm. I know that the earth logo is a little cliché, but with a name like One Earth, you have to go with that logo.
I did this site for the Lutheran Center at Ball State University. I have been maintaining this site now for two years.
When I first came in on this site, it had been maintained by a hobbyist who did not have a great design sense. I created a new design that was uniform and focused on a bright, cheery, inviting design that was organized in a logical manner.
When the name was changed to Grace Village, I was again brought in to update and modernize the design. I took this opportunity to create a non-legacy code-base that had a few more subtle features to make the site seem more responsive.
I Used XHTML 1.0 and CSS 2.1 to create the bulk of the design with some light JavaScript in the background.
On this site I built a login system with administration capabilities and an invoice system for their technicians to use for centralized invoice management.
I used PHP and MySQL along side of XHMTL 1.0 and CSS 2.1
I did this so that my family had a way to schedule event and gatherings without having to email everyone in the family. It features the ability to add events and birthdays, and RSVP for an event, and the site emails everyone when an event is coming up.
I used PHP and MySQL along side of XHTML 1.0 and CSS 2.1
This site I did for a friend who has a IT Solutions business. He wanted a site with his contact info, a little about what he does, and a blog to write about tech related issues.
Unfortuantly the owner has taken the server this site is hosted on offline for some reason that he won't tell me. So, until I can get him to open for business again, I will be hosting a version on my server that is not live.
I used PHP and MySQL along side of XHTML 1.0 and CSS 2.1
I created this site to increase the online presence of Phil Mark's rental business, and also to create a portal for communication between the owner and potential clients.
For this site I created a content management system so that the client could be in charge of the content of the site without my intervention.
I used PHP along side of XHTML 1.0 and CSS 2.1
